Paul Couper has been appointed as the new chief executive for Mercy Hospice Auckland.
Couper has worked in the healthcare industry for 20 years and his previous positions have included director of Philips New Zealand and general manager for Philips Healthcare. Over the past two years, following the death of his wife in 2014, he has worked as a business consultant.
Chairman of the board of Mercy Hospice Auckland, Denis Wood, said he was delighted to announce Couper’s appointment.
“He has a proven track record leading and coaching teams to achieve results through relationship development and creativity.”
Couper says he is honoured to join Mercy Hospice Auckland as it continues its strong community work ethic.
“The hospice has an incredible history and has been doing fantastic work for a long time here in New Zealand. I am looking forward to contributing to its future success.”
His appointment came into effect on 1 February, 2017.
